The 911SC version of the 911 was introduced in 1978 and continued until 1983 when the final year would be the ONLY year the SC was offered in Cabriolet form!! With only "1,781" U.S.A. 911SC Cabriolet's produced, I would say these cars are rare and undoubtedly desirable, You? Not only are these cars a true enthusiast's machine, they are awesome handling car's that are incredibly fun to drive! Top that off with a Top Down option and you have a wonderful Grand Touring Car with tons of Bang for the buck! This rock solid & rare specimen sports only 67,000 actual miles and is ready to go!! Clean & Fresh! Recently, this lady's dry, solid, straight and accident-free white body was treated to a professional basecoat/clearcoat of "Pearl" White from jamb to jamb! In 2002, the original canvas convertible top and leather seating surfaces were freshened up with an all new soft top, rear plastic window and leather front seating! Mechanically, Just over 2,000 miles and 2 Years ago, the transmission and gearshift assemblies were rebuilt with a new clutch by a well known Independent Porsche Repair Shop right here in Boise, Idaho to the tune of $2,431 bones (see receipt sub-page)! An updated Blaupunkt AM/FM CD sound system keeps you in the grove! In closing, if you have been looking for an early drop-top German Sports Car that's ready to go, you need to stop here and take a good look! The very shiny recent 1 year young professional paint is of good quality, it's body panels are very straight showing good prep prior to refinish over the original surface. According to the owner, "the only reason I re-finished it was because it was showing it's age with expected chips, nicks, fading and I wanted a good looking driver". The floor pans are rock solid with NO signs of rust, ever. The interior is newer and in good condition. The convertible top is also newer with ease of operation. Mechanically sound, starts, runs smoothly, does not smoke and handles well! The tires are showing some age/wear and they will need to be replaced in the near future. The A/C Blows Cold but the switch intermittently fails to activate. Mechanically sound, No known problems. It is not known whether or not is was updated to Carrera Chain Tensioners. Not New and Not Perfect but Overall a rare, good, honest, solid and affordable drop top German Sports Car!
