Description

Boy Oh Boy, I have had some Rare Muscle Cars available for sale lately and this Jewel should Tip the Scales! This is the BEEP BEEP in a Winged Warrior Version!! Extremely rare with only 1,920 produced! The Superbird was a sub-series of the Road Runner featuring an Aero-Dynamic extended nose, Concealed headlights and a Tail Stabilizer! Point Blank, this car was designed for NASCAR Super Speedway Racing! To qualify, Plymouth built Superbird's on the basis of ONE for every TWO Dealerships! Much like this One, the standard version was equipped with a 440 Cubic Inch V8 topped with a single 4 Barrel Carburetor! Well, let's get on with the Show! This Jewel was delivered brand spanking new to a small Chrysler Dealership in Ontario, Oregon, an eastern Farm Town in the DRY High desert about 50 miles west of Boise, Idaho! Have you heard of Ore-Ida Potato Products! Yep, Spudland! Okay, off track but I just wanted to give you the idea that this is a DRY CLIMATE CAR with solid history! The first retail owner kept the car only a few years before selling her to the 2nd owner in 1972 who enjoyed/protected the car for 17 years when the present owner acquired it in 1989! Only 3 Owners! The current owner garaged/protected the car until the desire to completely restore it began in 1995-1996! A patient professional, overseen by owner, NO EXPENSE SPARED, complete nut/bolt Rotisserie Restoration where nothing was left un-touched! Everything was to be New, NOS and/or Rebuilt! All of which was finally completed at the end of 2003 and less than a few hundred miles ago! The original 440 CI Magnum V8 was completely intact and residing under the hood, with one issue, the previous owner had neglected to install Anti-Freeze causing a non-repairable crack to the cylinder block. A suitable Magnum 440 Date/Cast Coded Block (7-29-69 OC15721) was acquired, disassembled and completely rebuilt with components from the original specimen, ie: Cylinder Heads, Crank, Intake Manifold, Exhaust Manifolds, Carburetor, Pulleys/Accesories and etc! The original factory 727 Torque-Flite Automatic Transmission and 3:23 Posi-Traction Rear End were also rebuilt to factory standards! So, Matching Numbers with a Correct Replacement Cylinder Block! The original body prior to the rotisserie restoration was incredibly dry with NO Rust repairs and/or panel replacement required, other than the hood, which had a hole in the center from an aftermarket carb/air scoop placed by the second owner. Rather than attempt to patch the center, a correct used replacement was located and installed! During the process, the owner decided if he was spending 45k Plus to restore, he would at least like to have a High Impact Factory Color, "Lime Light Green" instead of drab "Alpine White", the original color! Can't say you blame him? This is one Splashy Winged Warrior! Other than that, every attempt, to restore this RARE Muscle Car was correctly taken, right down to the Interior and Options! Up-graded, Factory optioned 7" inch wide steel wheels were located and equipped with Fat Radial Rubber. That's about it! MAKE SURE YOU VISIT THE 2 ADDITIONAL WEB-PAGES OF DETAILS, which includes a picture prior to restoration! In Closing, cars of this rarity, restoration quality, presence, ready to show and enjoy are extremely Hard to Find! Values have soared over the years and currently Show No Reason not to continue to do so! Investment Quality! One you can Pet, Protect and Enjoy! So, Do Not Snooze, BUY NOW! $OLD! Click Here For>EASY FINANCING GOOD LUCK!!!! SPUDMAN Known Items: This is VERY REAL! Owner Verified History! Some Misc. Photos and Documentation are included with the sale! The original build sheet was never located, not unusual.... The ORIGINAL Body Tag is in place, documented for a complete decode (see sub-page) and the Factory Vin is Un-Altered. Over $45,000 invested in the restoration, not including the vehicle value prior too!! Starts, Runs and Drives with ZERO Issues! Very Fresh! Finally, Not New and Not Perfect (none are) but this is a wonderful survivor with a Show Quality Restoration!! "IT IS WHAT IT IS" Let the 3 Web Pages of detailed pictures, tell the rest of the tale!
