1969 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle 396 Convertible

Well here's is one fine quality late 60's Muscle Car with superior restoration qualities! Acquired in California by the current Idaho owner as a dry solid survivor with a "close to" complete SS restoration (see sub page). Although very solid, once received, it was the decided that it did not meet his level of satisfaction! What evolved was two year professional restoration requiring very deep pockets!

The body on this babe is absolutely lickable, mirror straight and of inspiring professional quality! The Body/Chassis was sent to Parks West Auto Body in Boise, Idaho where every possible cosmetic attention to detail was adhered too! Every Jamb, Deck, Hood and Fender was treated to exterior quality finishes inside and out (see sub page). The final product is a wonderful coat of Bright Blue Metallic wrapped in SS side stripes, all new SS badge's, Chrome and Trim! The POWER convertible top rack was professionally restored and wrapped with a new white top and new glass rear window. Fit and finish of every component is of Show Quality under the lights!

While this was going on the power train was receiving it's own level of perfection. The up-graded period correct re-stamped 396 engine/heads were sent out to be professionally rebuilt by Shaw City in Fresno California, where everything was Balanced/Blueprinted for optimum performance and reliability. Features include, Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold, Holley 4V Carburator, Subtle Chrome, HPC Coated Hooker Headers and Custom Dual 2 1/2 Exhaust with Flowmaster Mufflers. The end result is a very healthy Bad Boy with shockingly CRISP power! The factory 4 Speed was upgraded to a NEW Richmond 5-Speed Transmission and Performance Clutch Assembly. The rear differential is a 12 Bolt Housing with 3.73 gears. You will like how this muscle car drives and sounds, simply, "Tight and Right"! Also equipped with POWER Steering and POWER Disc Brakes. ALL NEW front suspension, bushings, stabilizers, springs, bearings, axles, brake rotors, brake drums, seals and more! The rolling stock is completed with classic chrome Cragar wheels with 235/60 R15 BF Goodrich Radial Rubber (SS Wheels Included). 

Hop inside to an original Parchment White interior with factory Buckets and Console! Re-dressed with fine re-production threads, carpet and many new components. The dash sports it's original factory multi cluster with tachometer. The steering wheel is up graded with a leather wrapped and polished billet replacement (an original SS steering wheel is included). Not much else to say, except, Very Nice!

In closing, if you are looking for a superb example of late 60's Drop Top Muscle, this lady should do the trick, she has plenty of eyeball and functionality! Extreme quality paint and body!! Known Items: Free and Clear titled in the State of Idaho as a SS Chevelle. A rock Solid Body with a Whistle Straight and SHOW QUALITY Finish! Originally a 350 V8 with Factory 4-Speed and Console/Bucket Interior and not an original SS (see-page details for data/code breakdown) but very hard to tell the difference (even by a pro) and who cares, it's an exceptional tribute! The engine suffix on the block is re-stamped with matching Suffix/Vin extension (re-production/tribute). The factory tach and all gauges appear operational with the exception of the Amp Gauge and Speedometer. The console quadrant is tight for the 5-Speed pattern and it's a bit tight getting into reverse but after a time or two, you will have no problem. (The original Muncie Close Ratio 4-Speed Transmission is included) Now as I always say, Not Perfect and Not New but Damn near! Very Nice and priced Right!!
