1968 Pontiac GTO Convertible PHS Documented 400 V8 - 4 Speed - A/C

This is the Real Deal, factory matching # 400 CI 4bbl V8, 4 Speed and factory Air Conditioning!  Rescued by the current owner as a very nice un-restored original, it was located about 15 years ago in Sacramento, California while living in Sunnyside, California, a short few years later he relocated to Idaho where it was stored indoors for 10-12 years. According to the owner, the power-train is 100% original and carries all matching numbers. We have PHS (Pontiac Historical Society) verified the original build specifications (see above build docs) and verified the major components as correct matching. The factory 400 cubic inch V8 (WT), 4 Speed "Fully Synchronized" Transmission, Console Shifter and Safe-T-Track 3.23 Rear Differential have all been professionally rebuilt with less than 1,000 miles. Mechanically other expected items Rebuilt and/or New replaced include Front Suspension, Power Steering Pump, Bushings, Disc Front, Drum Rear, Master Cylinder, Brake Booster, Driveshaft, Dual Exhaust and ICE COLD Factory Air Conditioning (converted to R-34). Prior to the restoration, it's original body was a rock solid California specimen with original rust free floor pans. It was completely stripped, media blasted, massaged and prepared for final finish. No major panel replacement was required and only 3 minor rust spots above the rear wheels required proper repair. Once it was primed and sealed, the owner chose a "Deep Amethyst" in place of the factory "Aegena Blue". Professionally completed jamb to jamb in a basecoat/clearcoat, you would never tell it was any other color. The power Convertible Top was restored in White (orig black) and glass rear window.  Finally the original factory Rally Wheels were media blasted, refinished and wrapped in new BF Goodrich T/A Radial Rubber. Hop inside to an interior with factory Bucket Seats and Console Shift! The upholstery is new with center Cloth inserts for comfy top down driving. Everything within the factory dash is completely operable including the Clock and Radio. Yes, as mentioned earlier, ICE COLD Factory Air Conditioning! Showing it's well preserved condition, the dash pad is the original with NO cracks!
