Listing Description
1968 Buick Electra 225 Two Door Hardtop: Amazing one owner 60's Luxury Car with 65,000 actual miles!! Every now and then I get a chance to visit a piece of Family history that just give's you a warm feeling when you grab the wheel! Then you listen to the story and it's true character comes out! Not many cars with this type of character still exist that are 35 years young! Mom's Car with Fun History!
Currently owned by the son of the Lady that pointed to her when new and said "That One"! Driven off the showroom floor by Mom! Up until recently not even the thought of letting the Ol' Girl go even existed! As always space becomes the issue and rather than move her outside to the elements, it's time to move to greener pastures!
Mom owned a Dry Cleaners in Lindsberg, Kansas and always dreamed of her car and made it happen thru the Cookie Jar Method! While Dad was around he had bought her a Vista Cruiser Wagon which she never liked! She always said that she wanted her BUICK! So a secret plan was made, everyday that she came to work before she went home she would put $5 bucks in a hidden Jar towards her Buick! One of the frequent customers of the Dry Cleaners was (you Guessed It) The Buick Dealer himself. Mr. Warta! She would inquire constantly about what they had and tell him "I will be ready soon"! At roughly $4200 bucks brand new it would take just about Two years, give or take a few days and the the Ol' Vista Cruiser Trade plus tax! Mom had the plan and she succeeded. On that special day she called the Dealer to inquire on Inventory and was told "Bring ALL yer money, your trade and we will see if we can Make a Deal"! She did it and this car was treated to a life of luxury! Her own Garage Space and Frequent Pampering at the Dealer!
This Loved Family Jewel shows it's care! A factory 8-Track option resides under the dash just as new! Pleasantly powered by it's original Wildcat 430 cubes of V8 4 Barrel Power and Automatic Tans! Air Conditioning, Power Brakes and power steering! This Ol' Girl's a great example of late 60's 2 door Hardtop Luxury Car! A real cruiser that will spoil you in solid comfort! Only 10,705 of these Babes were built and this is a True Blue Survivor that is Single Family owned since NEW!!! Your odds of finding one in this condition are slim and may not pass again! What a Great entry collectable or that Special Luxury Buick you have been waiting for! Affordable Honest Classic, Tons of bang fer the Buck and Solid as a Rock! Time to Go!! BID or BUY NOW!! Or as I always say Ya Snooze, Ya Lose! GOOD LUCK!!!!
Known Items: Passed onto the son in 1998 and Driven to Dry Boise, Idaho where she now resides! The body is straighter than a whistle and has never been in a accident with only minor touch-ups! Yes the paint is original! The body and floor pans are DRY DRY DRY with only one minor very small rust spot just forward of the LR skirt that is hardly worth mentioning. The White Vinyl top is perfection! The Chrome and Glass are Spectacular! The INTERIOR is WHOA, Time Warp, Amazing original and Darn near perfect! Everything works with the exception of the clock! Runs and Drives wonderfully, just as a 65k mile 60's Luxury Buick would, Motionless while Moving! Nice Driver!! The A/C has a new compressor (years ago) operates, blows cool but not cold (just a bit of A/C R-12 juice to fill the sight glass?) In short and to the point, NOT NEW and NOT PERFECT but you look at the pictures, read what I have written and you be the judge! Buy her and you will own a nice one! I would bet Paul Harvey came thru these speakers often, so "Page 2 Paul Harvey", new owner!
