Description
Cars presenting themselves like this are extremely rare, truly do exist, don't last long and are always a good investment! This is a REAL 4-4-2 Coupe, Original Paint & 104k Actual Miles! A BEAUTIFUL MATCHING NUMBERS 60's MUSCLE CAR! I could go on but I will jump straight to the known facts and history of this wonderful Muscle Car! She just turned 38!
This 1967 Oldsmobile 442 was built in June 1967 at Fremont California and shipped to Dealer #23-682. The original Oldsmobile factory owners manual & warranty protect-o-plate are included, revealing the original owner Mr. Desmond T. Jenkins of Sunnyvale, CA. took delivery on 8/23/67. Review of California registration history shows the car was purchased by Mr. Gary Lee Jensen of San Mateo, who later relocated to South San Francisco. Mr. Jensen owned the car from 1992 until the present owner of Boise, Idaho purchased the car in November 2004. Based on the registrations that go with her, it is believed that there have only been 3 owners of this vehicle since new!
The present mileage showing on the car is 4,003 and/or 104,003 miles. Included Documentation includes a date coded photograph from 5/31/92 showing the odometer at 99,999.0 miles. It is believed the mileage is correct as the second owner says he put less than 3,500 miles on the car over the 10 years he owned it from 1992 to 2004! Couple that with the superb original condition, it should leave little to no doubt as to the actual miles!
It's amazing stock interior is original and in very good overall condition with only a couple of small stitch pulls (see sub-page). Equipped with some great factory options: Deluxe Cutlass Supreme Trim, floor shift with lighted console, rare factory tilt steering wheel, power steering, power boost brakes and an AM/FM radio that works well with front and rear speakers! Based on comments from the second owner, the original owner added the chrome Sun Tach mounted on the steering column! The second owner had an overheated lighter and melted a distortion in the plastic dash bezel. A very nice replacement bezel is included (see sub-page). All interior lights work as do the headlights, tail lights and turn signals. Even the parking brake and brake on warning light also function properly! The factory jack and spare tire cover with spare are also in place!
On to the body! Based on comments from the owner, history and my professional opinion, it is believed to carry it's original Pewter factory paint! Because it looks so dang good, it is possible that is there has been minor small surface spot repairs over the years but there are no paint lines and/or signs of any panel ever being moved, repaired and/or replaced! Some areas noted are the hood and fender where some minor thin spots exist (I tried to photo document but they would not show) The floor pans, rocker panels and trunk are absolutely rock solid originals with no signs of any rust ever! Overall, the paint looks very good for an original driver car that has obviously been well cared for! The chrome is the original showing expected common age and the top of the front bumper shows minor pitting (see sub-page). Fitted with new American 15” Torque Thrust Wheels with BF Goodrich White Letter T/A Tires and the original wheels/caps are NOT available. While not perfect the amazing condition of this car is very impressive! Simply an "Honest Survivor" that can easily be respected the way it is and/or a perfect specimen to take to the extreme!!
On to the Factory Power! The engine compartment is all original with no modifications of any type! Every single major number matches except the Quadra-Jet Carburetor which appears to have been a service replacement. Since the car was originally sold new in California, it came equipped from the factory with a required smog pump, the pump still works excellent it has passed the Ada County, Idaho emissions inspection without any adjustments or modifications!! Now I will get into the Numbers!
