1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible

A little history! This particular body style was in production only 3 years and was the last year of production for a Thunderbird convertible for years to come! Total convertible production during those years totaled only 14,875 units, 64 = 2,980, 65 = 6,846 and 66 = 5,049! Truly a low production and collectable mid 60's convertible. Solid specimen's such as this are getting harder and harder to find!

Factory power is a "Z" code 390 Four Barrel V-8 that produces a smooth 315 Horsepower @ 4600 rpm hooked to a 3 Speed automatic transmission. Other features include huge Power Disc Brakes and Power Steering! Mechanically sound and ready to go with a recent once over by the Master Mechanic owner (see below known items).

Finished in a sexy combo of Black exterior over Red interior! The body on this lady is exceptionally solid with a good driver quality finish, the power top is new and the interior is believed the original! Even the factory AM Radio plays Paul Harvey like it was yesterday! Other neat features include tilt away steering column and working "Thermometer" style Speedometer! Known Items: Rescued from years of Northwest indoor/garage storage and non use by the current Master Tech owner. A good once over included the following items: New U-Joints, New Tires, Carburetor Overhaul, Fuel Tank Flush, Replaced Valve Cover Gaskets, New Battery, New Thermostat/Coolant, Tune Up, Oil Filter Service, Misc Hoses and Complete Engine Detail! Starts instantly, Runs Great, Shifts Smoothly and Drives Excellent. There are No noted engine oil leaks (common seepage expected). The transmission shows a minor leak/seep possibly dipstick tube seal. Mechanically sound and ready to go! 

The body is of dry climate origin and is exceptionally solid. This is not a salt area car! The rockers and all body panels appear as rock solid originals. A few minor rust areas are to be expected and are noted on the sub-page photos include: Small spot driver center floor pan (3-4 fingers size w/minor area perforation, possibly from a wet carpet, easy fix), RR lower Otr Panel (some minor bubbles, No perforation), Trunk Lid (common inner/lower bubbles No Perforation, not visible from exterior) and Rear Deck (minor near where conv. top attaches at rear, No perforation). Trunk Pan Solid. The body is very Straight and the very shiny professional type paint is estimated to be 7-10 years young with misc Garage Dings, Use/Age and Touch-Ups. A jamb to jamb refinish over a original Dove Gray. Rating: Very acceptable driver quality! The power top has Newer Canvas and perfectly powers into the trunk (the power rams show minor common seepage). All Glass and Chrome is in GOOD un-restored condition.

The interior appears to be 100% original with minimal to no wear. The dash is solid with no cracks and the interior chrome is good. All instruments operated properly upon inspection with the exception of the Clock. The factory radio works! All exterior body lighting is operational. The power door locks showed intermittent operation (switch?). 

Overall a very nice specimen that is pleasing to admire, operate and enjoy! As I always say, Not Perfect and Not New (none are) but this convertible is very collectable and offers plenty of bang for the buck! This Classic is priced very fairly and will appreciate in value! Good Day, Paul Harvey!
