This beautiful full steel body Nova was purchased in Missoula, Montana in July of 2000 and moved to Boise, Idaho. At that time, it was equipped with a 350 cu. in. small block Chevy and a TH 400 Auto Trans. The rest of the car was basically stock with a 10 bolt posi-track 4:11 rear end and totally stock suspension. The present owner bought the car to interest his son in the High School Drag Racing league at Firebird Raceway, Boise, Idaho. Equipped with the very best components and parts that are available, No expense has been spared to make this a consistent, safe and durable performer! Very safe, easy driving and forgiving, even with an inexperienced driver! A great and comfortable ride. It could easily be made back into a beautiful street car!

It was first run with the mild small block, traction bars and a transmission shift kit, allowing it to perform in the high 12’s at 110 to 112 MPH Qtr mile times. Sub Frame connectors were also installed for greater body rigidity. In 2001 a built 355 cu in. small block engine with dyno proven power of 480 HP and a Powerglide transmission with TCI Trans Brake were installed along with a mini tub and a 12 bolt rear end. The car ran into the mid 11 second ET category and was very competitive and consistent. This car won many best of show and fastest high school entry trophies, as well as several competition event trophies for 3 years running.

In 2004, after high school graduation, a 372 cu in. small block engine was built by the Dyno Shop of Nampa, Idaho. This engine is Dyno proven at 570 H.P. and 460 lb ft torque. Built with a Dart Iron Eagle Block and CNC ported AFR aluminum heads, approx.14:1 compression, Erson custom grind solid roller cam, full shaft mount roller rockers, Calles Dragon Slayer Crank, JE pistons, Eagle Rods, and a BG 750 CFM Race Demon Carb on a open plenum race intake manifold.  MSD 3 Step Controller and Hooker Super Comp High Temp Coated Headers with torque tubes make this a potent and consistent performer. The 12 bolt rear is set up with a mini spool and 4:33 gears. The Powerglide transmission was built by Final Round Performance of Nampa, Idaho and has performed flawlessly. With the new engine the Nova has run 10:28 ET at 126 MPH at 1000 ft. density altitude. It launches straight and pulls the front wheels about 18 in. off the ground and nicely carries them back down gently with the power on full over the first 30 ft. of track.

The beautiful Dupont Rebel Red with Blue Pearl high lights makes it look as good as it goes. The paint is near show quality but now aging somewhat.  Still looks excellent and is very presentable. The rear suspension is a stock mono-leaf spring with a slide a link bracket. Cal Trac bars were also installed for traction adjustments. 28.5 X 12 X 15 Goodyear Slicks and Weld Drag Star wheels, an additional set of brand new Hoosiers all mounted on new Weld Wheels are also included with the car. The present slicks are good for at least 30-40 passes. It has an 8 point roll cage certified by the NHRA and the transmission and torque converter shields are all SFI approved for racing. 

The original interior seating comes with the car. It is the original full steel body with only the mini tub completed to allow for bigger rear rubber on the ground. The trunk has a 12 gallon fuel cell with a high capacity electric pump and fuel regulator and bypass system. The battery is trunk mounted as well.

The student has now moved away to California and does not the time nor the funds available to race. They have decided to sell the car which has become a member of the family. The only thing required to put this car back into street configuration would be an exhaust system and street tires. The body is very solid and straight.  A very good quality driver finish. This car is a beautiful high performance muscle machine that would make an excellent street cruiser and bury any hemi that comes along.
