Description
Well this is one of those projects that got carried away to the umpteenth level!! This fair lady served faithfully as a shop truck for a small machine shop right here in Boise, Idaho for many many years! Since she had served well, the shop owner decided it was time to give her a rest and some TLC. Oh No, a very technical machinist and a good servant, you can only imagine the combo. Needless to say he got carried away and her use was never to be a servant again but a garage queen!!
The restoration started in 1997 and would take many years and buckets of $$!! Tons Invested, Standing Tall, Whistle Straight and Sooper Clean!! The body was stripped to bare metal, massaged and prepped for a complete reincarnation! Every nut, bolt and mechanical component was turned, rebuilt and/or replaced! Once the underside details were attended to she was professionally treated to a lickable Concept single stage followed by a PPG base/clear from jamb to jamb! Yes the pick-up bed was treated to the same attention to detail along with tasteful oak bed-strips! NICE!! You get the idea, onto the innovative power!
The engine compartment was detailed to perfection including many red powder-coated components! Simply Sano! The selected power is a rebuilt 1963 200 CI Six Banger bored .040 and Standard Crankshaft .010/.010! Build components include: Clifford Performance Camshaft Package (camshaft, lifters, springs, keepers), 1971 250 CI cylinder head with machined intake to accept Holley Weber 2V Carb, Clifford Custom Dual Split Header, Dual Flowmaster Exhaust and YES, Vintage AIR-CONDITIONING & HEAT!!! Up front resides a nice set of early 80's Mustang Disc Brakes! Finally, Crager Wheel Company was called upon to custom build 13" 4 spoke wheels that were wrapped in radial rubber!
In closing, I think the 3 FULL web-pages of detailed photos can tell the rest of the story!! A sweet little early "One of a Kind" 1962 Ranchero!! BUY NOW!! Sale Pending!! GOOD LUCK!!!!
Known Items: A very solid body, frame and power-train. Mirror straight body with no known rust and very shiny professional paint. From the floor pans to the roof-top, very Sano!! No power steering. As I always say, Not Perfect and Not New but this is one fine unit that clearly shows well @ any cruise or weekend show. It's a cutie!!
