Description

Ok Gang, here's the deal! This is an amazing and very rare "Real SS Survivor" which has been owned by the same fastidious owner for well over 20 years! It has been protected, preserved & tastefully enhanced with an equally rare power-train! A sure fire investment! Make sure you visit all 4 pages of detailed photos and read on for more!

Let's start with this very rare "ORIGINAL SS" factory trimmed survivor! Rescued in near pristine condition and tastefully refinished in (914) Nassau Blue in the Mid 80's, the original color was (912) Silver Blue. Not restored, simply enhanced & preserved! The original body was whistle straight and needed NO exterior panel replacement and/or rust repair. What is even more impressive is the condition of the original factory trim (Code 843 Vinyl "Impala SS Coupe" Seat type: Bucket) Study the photo's closely, you will be amazed and I can assure you that this car is much better in person! For example, the Dash Paint/Trim, Seating Stainless Trim, Interior Door/Side Panels, Center Console, Radio, Headliner, Grill, SS Trim, Window & Side Trim, Glass, Body Panels, Interior Color, etc are ALL ORIGINAL to this Survivor! Yes, the only items that were renewed was the Carpet, Seating Surfaces and Paint Color! Some neat adds include a very rare original 409 Tachometer, NOS 409 Fender Emblems, 4-Speed Trim, Under Dash Gauges, Mickey Thompson Radar Drag Wheels (original SS caps included) and Hurst Wide White Drag Slicks. It's got the L@@K! and FEEL!

Now the fun part! The power under the hood is a VERY RARE and complete 63/64 QB code, 425 Horsepower, Dual Quad 4-Barrel, 409 "FOUR-O-NINE" Cubic Inch V8!!! Acquired by the owner who is a well known Mid-West engine builder, it was totally disassembled, inspected, balanced and professionally rebuilt! The bore was perfect and remains factory "Standard" along with factory Crankshaft, Rods and Forged Pistons. For reliability, the camshaft was up-dated with a hydraulic version professionally ground to factory lift/duration. The original 425HP cylinder heads were rebuilt and the final motion is set with Crane Roller Rockers. Yes, the Intake and Dual Carter Carburetors are GENUINE! The "BEST of the BEST" 409 parts included are an equally rare original 64 Air Filter Housing and Valve Covers! Tuned to the Nut's, this combo is a shocking addition of period power! Yes, it has factory POWER STEERING!

Along the same period correct theme, The rest of the drive-train is also impressive! Equipped with a factory aluminum 409 bell housing, balanced flywheel and Ram Clutch. Originally an automatic car, the hump was exactly & correctly duplicated to an original with NOS Trim! The added Borg Warner 4-Speed was completely rebuilt and shifts as easy as slicing butter. After a long exhaustive search, the rear differential pumpkin was replaced with a NEW still in the factory box, 456 POSI-TRACTION Gear/Housing assembly! The end of the story is that this Muscle Car is mechanically tight and right with a period Correct Drag Feel!

In closing, cars of this stature are extremely hard to find and very rarely come up for sale! After more than 20 years of protected ownership, we bring it to you! Make no mistake, with all of the right things done, this is an Investment Quality Muscle Car! You will attract attention anywhere and at any show!! This is a very exceptional specimen, do not miss this Jewel! ** ** ( see below note ) GOOD LUCK!!!!
