Ok my gosh, the stature of this unit makes me feel like "I just laid down a mid 60's issue of Hot Rod Magazine"! Time warp appeal and feel, BRUTE FORCE in one direction, forward! So let's get on with the show on this statuesque 60's Muscle Car!

The wonderfully solid and rare #1637 Belair 2dr Sport Coupe "Bubble Top" body is one of 5,950 produced as originally equipped with a V8 (source 348-409.com). This jewel was originally equipped with a small block V8 and NOT an original 409 build but the drag re-creation is typical of the period, SIMPLY AWESOME! There is nothing like classic White over Red, retaining her original body, seating and colors, the factory #936 Ermine White was professionally stripped from firewall to door jamb and restored to perfection in Classic Lacquer by Mike Grosz. Rare California one-piece bumpers with show plating adorn the front/rear. Every stitch of trim/bright work was stripped, re-polished and re-anodized by Butch's Trim (yes, inside also). All latches, hood hinges, etc. have been re-cadium plated. All new weather-stripping, door whiskers and window seals. The outer headlights have been screened over for Offenhauser Fresh Air Induction! Everything is assembled with exceptional attention to detail! The final touch is the rolling stock, fitted with polished "Radar" alloy drag wheels fitted with P255/70 R-15 Pro-Trac 70 front tires and 8:00 x 15 M & H Racemaster Dragster thumbprint slicks!

Hop inside!! The factory #872 Red Cloth/Vinyl Bench Seating has been restored to original standards with a complete interior from "Cars Inc" neatly fitted by Steve Ralfs of Village Upholstery. As mentioned earlier all trim work is restored and/or polished. Common Drag features include a Heater and Radio Delete. Residing on the steering column is very rare and original factory 409 Tachometer! Everything within this cavernous interior is spectacular, tight and right! Slide in with yer honey by your side!!

Now for the fun part!! Under the hood this baby packs a very rare Dual-Quad 425HP 409 cubic inch V8 with some great vintage Offy and Drag jewelry!! Professionally rebuilt by a well known Midwest Racing Engine builder who knows how to do-it right! Starting with a rare vintage STANDARD BORE factory replacement block (no stamping front boss) and an equally rare set of 425HP (casting # 690) cylinder heads. Fitted with correct std pistons and crankshaft everything was balanced, blue-printed and professionally clean room assembled. The cylinder heads received bronze valve guide liners, competition valve job, machined for positive type valve seals and Lunati valve springs. All of this is driven by a true double roller timing chain assembly connected to a Lunati Hydraulic Camshaft ground to original 425HP specifications. Induction starts with a very rare aluminum 425HP factory Dual Quad GM intake manifold fed by two 4bbl carter AFB carbs breathing fresh air thru vintage drag Offy Induction. SWEET!! Ignition is handled by a stock distributor fitted with Petronix electronics and coil. Other accessory features include vintage Offenhauser polished aluminum valve covers, rare early GM Police Interceptor Alternator. Passing the spent fuel is a set of Hooker Comp Headers (HPC coated in/out) flowing into tightly tucked rear exit exhaust. Now, how do we get the power to the rear wheels?? First we must shield the driver with a very rare "Wedge Engineering" Cast Iron NHRA Approved Bell Housing. Fitting to the balanced flywheel is a RAM Clutch Disc and High Cone Diaphragm Performance Pressure Plate. Handling the ratios is Muncie big-pin transmission controlled with a Hurst Comp Plus Shifter. Churning the sticky meats is a 488 Posi Rear Differential! WOW!

In closing, this is one fine specimen assembled with care and fitted with some great 60's Muscle Car improvements! Bubble Top's are HOT and vintage drag is even HOTTER!
