1961 Chevrolet Impala Hardtop SS 348 Tri-Power Four Speed - Ok where do I start?? This is one fine "Bubbletop Bowtie"!! There is no question that the quality of this Very Rare "Impala Coupe RPO 573-B 350hp 348, Tri-power, Four Speed, Posi-Traction" will stand up to anyone's opinion of perfection to the extreme! Even better yet, it has been documented/restored to every last detail! It is the Real Deal, Period! Spectacular!! This wonderful survivor is possibly and arguably the best Documented/Optioned example in existence today! So, you must read on for more!
Purchased from the original owner William Paul Harlivy" with 68,000 miles in June of 2000 by the "William Pritzer III Collection" in the State Oklahoma! Complete with the original Factory Special Order Form from Ayers Motor Company dated 12-02-60 and the original Oklahoma Title Dated 1-11-1961. Shortly therafter, This "40 year - 1 Owner - Classic" was turned over to Sterling Restoration's of Kansas City, Kansas for the no questions ask $125,000 2 year restoration! Painstaking attention to detail and strict attention to exact specification where adhered to! A 100% COMPLETE Nut & Bolt Restoration, what could not be rebuilt/restored was replaced with NOS Factory Original Parts! A complete restoration $107,000 file supports such statements with receipts on many NOS Parts! Shortly after it's completion it participated in the New England "2002 SUPER CHEVY SHOW" where it received the coveted "30th Anniversary Commemorative Award" and "Outstanding Detail" Award! Other awards include 2 "Best Muscle Car" Awards!
The original matching # 348 V8 350hp Solid Lifter power train was treated to the same exact attention to detail with $9,000 spent in the engine alone with correct NOS Crankshaft while other modern internals were added for dependability and today's fuel, correct cut Solid Lifter Valve Train, reworked hardened valve seats etc. To give you an idea of the extreme, the gear oil in the rear differential is GM 1961!
