1958 Pontiac Chieftain 4 Door Sedan

Talk about time warp, this little cream puff is a rock solid 42k mile trip down memory lane! About as original as you can get and everything (I mean everything) works flawlessly! We very much enjoy bringing you a classic such as this, they are only original once and this one is a gem!! Now for the rest of the story...

Fifty years ago this honey was purchased brand spanking new by the original owners on August 25th, 1958 at Chet Smith Motors in the dry high desert of Baker City, Oregon. The dealership gave each new owner a license plate frame with the date of the purchase engraved on it (see top photo) both license plate frames are still on the car today...

Twenty-Six years later a gent named Jack Stevens became the second owner on July 18th, 1984 who lived in Radium Hot Springs that is located a few miles outside of Baker City. Jack was the owner of Radium Hot Springs swimming pool from the mid seventies until he died in 2006 at the age of 90. The swimming pool was feed by the hot springs beside the pool. At the time of his death he had 15 cars with a 1913 Krit that he restored as one of the 15. The Krit was one of two left in existence. Of the fifteen cars the Pontiac was one he drove in parades and special events. This car remained original and unmolested with very low miles...

Twenty two years later the current and 3rd owner purchased her from the estate of Jack Stevens on December 6th, 2006. She drove flawlessly and everything worked just like it was yesterday. In Fact, after the car was purchased in Baker City, Oregon, she drove 130 miles back to Boise with out a hitch. The car has remained indoors and 100% original except for the carpeting, it has been replaced with 80/20 pile carpet that came from Ames restoration in Marlborough New Hampshire, which is the correct color and replacement for what was in the car originally. Recently the original carburetor has been rebuilt along with a tune-up, the transmission fluid was replaced and she has has been completely serviced...
