1956 Chevrolet Belair Sport Coupe Two Door Hardtop

This original Inca Silver Jewel was used as the sample/example vehicle for the 1977 identification publication of USA-1 Chevrolet 1946-1959, several pages identify the various and rare options this beauty sports and a photo of the California Black Plate (a copy of this book and the matching license plates are included with the purchase)!

After many years in California, about 5-6 years ago this car was purchased for the annual Mercy Medical "Giveaway Car" here in Southern Idaho! Over the years, this charity has become well known for it's extensive quality, seeking nationwide each and every year to find ONLY the Best Classic automobiles to be given away! This one was No exception!

It arrived in Idaho, with what was reported as 59k actual miles, a real Inca Silver Diamond Survivor with amazing options and original equipment including Continental Kit, Fender Spheres, F/R Bumper Guards with Up-Rights, Locking GM gas cap, GM Bowtie Exhaust Tips, Door Handle Fingernail Protectors, Dual Factory Mirrors, Traffic Light Prism (dash crows foot), Lower Stainless Rockers, Stainless Front Fender Protectors, Day-N-Night Mirror and More! The original Inca Silver had been refinished only once in it's life and the door jambs etc sport the original coat of paint, showing it's shocking pristine interior and exterior originality. For example, all of the factory Glass, Trim and Chrome is original. NOT restored but an exceptionally well protected survivor with NO rust or panel replacement ever, Zippo Zero!! The raffle winner could not swing the taxes and she was sold to a well known Treasure Valley Street Rod builder who has owned, enhanced and very much enjoyed her presence for about 5 years. While the original 60k power-train was neat, he wanted to be able to safely drive and enjoy her on today's roads with a bit of style, all the while, retaining it's original Beauty...

At 60,500 miles the original power train was tastefully updated with a modernized 1995 Chevrolet LT-1 V8 with Aluminum Heads, GM 4V Performance Intake and Edelbrock Quadra-Jet 4bbl Carburetor. Transfer of the smooth power is handled by a Hi-Way friendly 700R4 Transmission and factory rear differential with 3:55 gears. Exhaust is dispelled thru ram horn manifolds straight into aluminized 2 1/2 rear exit exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers! She sounds sweet!  Other features include serpentine belt system, Brass Works Radiator and Air Conditioning. The  chassis was lowered all the way around, updated with Dual Master Cylinder, Power Front Disc Brakes and finally set with polished Halibrand Style Wheels (made by Real Wheel 8 1/2" rear - 6" front), Knock Offs and new BF Goodrich Radials! Currently 63,500 miles (3k on engine/transmission/modifications) of driving enjoyment! Need I say more...... Yep!

In Closing, I found this to be a simply amazing documented survivor and a standard for others to be judged by! If you have been looking for a great 56 Chevy to enjoy, restorations are nice but all to often, the fit of an original can never be duplicated and this one is TIGHT and RIGHT!
