1955 Pontiac Star Chief Two Door Hardtop

Here's a good solid Star Chief that is "All There" and is a great driver to boot! This 50's hardtop has spent many years inside and out of the elements! Part of an estate, she has been protected over the years and driven very rarely! It is time to GO! 1955 was the first year of a major body change called A-Body styling! It was also the first year Pontiac introduced an overhead valve V-8! An all-time production record was set by Pontiac in December 1955! Under the hood lies a smooth running correct 287 CID Overhead Valve V-8 hooked up to a good shifting Hydro-Matic Automatic Tranz! Nicely optioned with Power Steering and vacuum assisted power brakes! 

The estate spent some $ making sure she was safe to drive and looked good! Her Master Cylinder was leaking and was sent out to be re-sleeved and rebuilt. The fuel pump, which acts as a vacuum assist pump for the wipers and brake assist was also rebuilt. A few minor tranz leaks were addressed and it was completely flushed with new fluid. Shifts Great! The radiator was removed, cleaned/rodded, checked for leaks and new coolant was installed. The engine oil was also changed. Inside they installed a new carpet kit and rear package tray. The wheels were old rusty basket wires with dry rubber. They chose to install some real spendy 20" inch wheels and brand new fat rubber to live'n up her look! This old Jewel look's good and is solid as a rock! A very affordable piece of history! BUY NOW!! Or as I always say: Ya Snooze, Ya Lose! GOOD LUCK!!!! 

Known Items: Due to this being an estate vehicle, not much else is known about it's history. The body is Super solid with NO Signs of rust on the exterior body, floor pans, trunk and shows no signs of any major accidents. A good dry Idaho Body! The paint is older with expected touch-up areas etc. No major damage was noted. The quality of the prep work on the average paint is so so and has a little waviness when you look real close! Look's great from a short distance! NO signs of any excess bondo or rust repair! Overall I would rate this one as a Good looking Driver! The chrome and stainless looks to be all original and has aged well with expected minor dings and scuffs. All glass is good. The interior is older leather with some common age concerns, minor cracking etc! The bottom front seat surface has been up-dated with what appears to be matching vinyl. The carpet is brand new! The radio is inop! In Closing, this baby is an easy restore if desired and is very presentable the way she is! The Best thing is that "it is ALL THERE"! Not Perfect, Not New! A very affordable one that you can drive while you perfect!
