1946 Chevrolet Half Ton Pickup

This is a 1946 Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup. It is so beautiful because we had just won WWII and were able to celebrate with luxuries like chrome again for the first time since about 1941,  We hadn't been out of the war long enough to develop new models, that would have to wait until 1947. The 41-46 is known as the art deco model. The details of the large grill teeth and parking lights atop the headlights reflect the popularity of the art deco movement. This beautiful truck appears stock with the exception of the chrome dual exhaust tips and the blue dots in the tail lights. Under the hood it has been built up as a 1950's hop-up.  No 350/350 set up here, this is a classic.  The original 216 un-pressurized babbit pounder has been replaced with a Chevrolet 261 straight 6 which is mounted into the stock motor mounts.  The 261 has been bored decked and balanced.  It sports a Howard Cam HEI distributor Offenhauser dual intake manifold with Rochester carbs and one off twin oval air cleaners. The six in heat is relieved through a Red Bird Racing split exhaust manifold directed straight into classic sounding dual exhaust! Shifting is controlled thru the stock Chevrolet 3 speed into the original propeller shaft! The rear-end is also stock but sports a Patrick's 355:1 ring-n-pinion so you can run this classic down the highway! Other features include polished Wayne valve cover and side cover! You are right if your thinking BITCHIN and Not Overdone!

Known Items: The previous owner purchased this very straight original truck in Emmett Idaho in 1995. Absolutely ROCK SOLID, she was stripped and restored to perfection!
