Description
Well, here's a great little red Ford 5 window coupe with a Graffiti Style chop! This cute glass driver was built by Kilbourne Rod Shop of Kilbourne, Illinois. Certainly Hot Rods like this are lightweight, affordable and exceptionally fun to drive. Read on for more facts.
The builders body is super strong with steel reinforcing framework. Much of the structure is 1-1/4" square tubing, with other bracing where it is needed. Doors and trunk have a steel inner structure which the hinges and latches are attached to for long life and strength. It's steel hood and side panels are "Rootlieb". Once completely assembled and fitted, it was professionally finished in a PPG Deltron single stage "Viper Red" (DAV-73840K) while the interior panels feature PPG Interior Duracryl (DIA-2677). Finished off with pop door actuators and tinted glass.
The chassis of the same manufacturer is built with American Stamping Rails, fully boxed and Z'd rear. The independent front suspension is "Heidt's Superide" with upgrade options including fully polished stainless steel, "Wilwood" Front Disc Brakes, "Aldon" coil over shocks and Rack-N-Pinion steering with "Flaming River" joints. Out back is a Ford 8" differential fitted with "Chassis Engineering" Tri-Link, "Aldon" coil over shocks and Ford drum brakes. Holding the fuel is a "Tanks Inc." steel tank. Rounding out the rolling stock is polished "American Torque Thrust" wheels, front 14 x 6 and rear 15 x 8.
Residing between her legs is a rebuilt Chevy 350 small block, stock heads, mild hydraulic cam , "Edelbrock" Performer Intake 600cfm combo, GM HEI Ignition, Taylor Plug wires, Block Hugger Headers (HPC Coated) and Turbo Mufflers. Transferring the power is a GM Turbo 350 auto tranz with shift kit. Keeping everything cool is a "Walker" Cobra Z radiator with a 16" electric fan. Dressed out with plenty of chrome accessories, brackets, valve covers and billet pulley's!
Hop inside to upholstery by Steve Ralf's of Durant, Iowa, Pontiac Trans-Am bucket seats with Sandstone vinyl/cloth combo. Other features include Vintage A/C (134a), Heat, GM Tilt Column, LeCarra Leather wrapped steering wheel, VDO Classic gauges, overhead AM/FM Cassette with side panel speakers. What else can we say?
