Description
Subtle perfection in the right direction!! Think about it, strolling thru cars shows across anywhere USA, I bet you can't remember the last time you had the chance to enjoy a 1929 REO FLYING CLOUD tastefully restored into something you can DRIVE and SHOW? I have no idea what production was and/or how many survived, but one thing is for sure, this is ONE very fine street rod that retains the wonderful beauty of a very rare survivor. Sporting a very fresh and "Professional Quality" restoration/modernization! Make sure you visit all 3 Web Pages of detailed photos and read on for more!!
Let's start with the body, a complete and very thorough body off restoration of an ALL STEEL ORIGINAL. It appears every attempt to retain her original beauty was adhered to while including strength and functionality! Super sweet factory options noted are an exterior passenger side "GOLF CLUB" access panel, fender mounted tool box, passenger Rumble Seat, rear mounted Spare, folding Luggage Rack, Leather Travel Trunk, cowl mounted Driving/Turn Signals, factory Heater and MORE!!! Strength? During this painstaking restoration, all interior steel body panels, doors and trunk wood reinforcement areas where replaced with steel (see sub-page one for detailed restoration shots). NICE! Study the original trim, especially the Mascot, Grill, Grill Shell, Grill Mesh, Opera Trim and Headlamps, all polished and/or re-plated to perfection, simply beautiful! I think that's enough, if you have not studied all photos, go do it now!!
The Frame was completely stripped, reinforced, refitted and refinished prior to assembly with a new power-train. Resting between and attached to these early legs is a peppy 350 cubic inch Ford Small Block V-8 topped with a fuel sipping 2V Carb, C4 Automatic Transmission, Ford 8" Differential, Dropped Front Axle, Dual Exhaust, Power Steering, Power Disc/Drum Brakes and more! Everything is in place and was either tastefully detailed or finished in exterior body color! The rolling stock is completed with chrome True Spoke wheels wrapped in Radial rubber. Tight Right and Exceptionally Operational!
Hop inside to some fine threads brought together with a Mohair style feel, finished wood floors, map pockets, rumble seat and functionality. Classic Stewart Warner gauges nicely fill the unmolested factory dash! From the headliner, to the door jambs, latches and more is exceptional attention to functional detail! What else can I can say?
In closing, I think you get the idea, very rare, one of a kind and very well done! If you are the type that likes attention, you will get tons of admiration from experienced rodders and enthusiast's alike! This is certainly one that is not seen everyday@!
