Listing Description

1921 Ford T-Bucket:

Hot Dog, what a cute little toy!! Wrapped in a timeless package!! Lil' Scoot fits her appropriately, this little lady really scoots!! You are looking @ one of those cars that has become part of the same family for more than 21 blissful "Garage Queen" years! A March 1984 Hot Rod Feature vehicle (hence the timeless character). Hot Rod writer Pat Ganahl spent a crisp Sunday afternoon scooting around the Irvine Hills of California noted , "an exercise in inertia", "thrilling and exhilarating". During my inspection & test drive, I found the same feelings, only it was 22 years later and a warm Lake Havasu City, Arizona morning! TOO FUN! Believe it or not, this car was built in 1978! An amazing 28 eight years young and preserved like it was yesterday! How? Lovingly owned, petted, shown and scooted for 21 years, now it's your turn!!

Weighing in @ only 1275 lbs, the power to weight ratio is amazing! While it has not been tested this way in years, who would want to? The magazine article goes on to say she posts a 13.7-second qtr mile run @ 96 mph and that's without Nitrous! That's impressive but what I found nice was the street-ability! One Sweet GRIN Package! Enough, Spudman likes it, now onto the facts!

Power is created with a stout 72 Ford 2000cc SOHC 4 Banger fitted with Dual 40 DCOE Webbers, K & N Air Filters, Jet Hot Coated Header with Rear Exit Exhaust, Hidden Nitrous Injection and tons of tasteful Chrome! Sliding thru the gears is easy with a custom fit Volvo M40 4-Speed Manual Transmission spinning the short shaft into a Courier 411 Differential! All neatly resting in a "Specialty Cars" 4 x 2 rigid box frame. The front suspension consists of a chrome dropped tube axle, 4 Bar w/ Buggy Spring, 54 Chevy Spindles and Armstrong Lever Shocks! Out back resides a traditional 4 Bar with Coil-Over Shocks! Steering is a reversed Corvair. Need to STOP? Front brakes are VW Disc with Super Bell Adapters while the rears are standard Courier Drums. Finally the rolling stock is complete with REAL Tru-Spoke Chrome Wire Wheels with front 145SR/14 and rear 295/50 R15 radial rubber! BUILT TIGHT!!

Creature Comforts? Ha, NONE, who needs em, Oops I forgot, it does have a crackly 70's era Kraco Radio with Cassette!! The mid 70's production fiberglass body still carries it's original owners finish with subtle added Tan "Rat Fink" style striping! Slick and Incredibly preserved! Yep, the Tan pleated "Naugahyde" (70's Vinyl) is also the original! Don't miss the sub-page of interior photos of the Oval Windowed Sun Shade!! Ok DONE!

In closing, this is a fair weather toy that speaks for itself!! An affordable late 70's Street Rod that is a Blast to Drive! Sugar Shack Baby!! Well Preserved, this is a nice and refreshingly unusual T-Bucket that will get plenty of Thumbs Up!!
