"ONE
COOL CADDY"
SOLD to Lynwood, Washington
1960 Cadillac
Series 62 Hardtop: There is no mistaking early 60's American luxury
cars, especially a Caddy!! Elegant styling, captivating appeal and a long swept tail with exquisite
dual dorsal fins! Cadillac's Advertisements stated "A Wonderful Way to
Start a New Decade"! Quite a statement, as this model year represented the
companies return to Quiet Sophistication from the Wild Fins of the 58-59 years
with excess trim! They Did enter a new era with wonderful, never to be duplicated
elegance! This statuesque lady stands tall with shocking ORIGINALITY and
CONDITION! Solid
examples of Classic Caddy Hardtop's are few and far between and your
opportunity to own one is now! Read on for the rest of the story!
According to Folk
Lore and verbal statements of the previous owners, the 39,907 miles are
actual with no signed documents! Currently owned by a gentleman here in Boise, who
purchased it from the previous owner of 14 years who is also a Boise resident!
He purchased it in
Washington State with stated actual miles (which is evident by the Port Townsend
Placard on the core support dated 1990)! In fact he believed the paint was
original! After my
careful professional inspection, all of the above is very very possible! Either
it's an incredible original and/or a very well done older restoration! Nothing is out of place and this one is
spectacular! All based on the incredible original interior, pedal wear, smooth
dash, whistle straight rust free body, trim, glass and strong power-train! Just
about every stitch of tantalizing chrome
inside-n-out is simply amazing! Loaded with a rare and working Wonder-Bar
radio!! One of 19,978 produced and I highly doubt many as nice
as this lady still exist! One thing is for sure, it's definitely, a very well preserved
survivor that others could be
judged by! There is no question she has always been cherished, garaged and well
cared for!
In closing, she will capture your senses! I like
Fins-n-Chrome and this lady sports
a bunch! This is the kinda car that will send chills up yer spine, cause others
to stare and draw crowds at the show-n-shine! Put yer shades on! What a real
estate car and/or just a great family cruiser! You will not find another just
like her and they do not come along too often! ! Drop her windows for a wide
open and airy hardtop feel! This is ONE COOL CADDY! Take yourself back in time WARP! BUY NOW!! Or As I always Say: Ya
Snooze, Ya Lose! GOOD LUCK!!!! SPUDMAN
Known
Items: A great northwest original body that's ROCK SOLID
with No signs of Rust and Straight as a whistle! Everything appears original!
The correct coded "Olympic White" paint is either the original and/or
an older re-finish! This one had me scratching my head as possibly original
paint! Jamb to Jamb this one is really nice with no paint lines and/or
over-spray on anything! What I see is only well cared for age! She looks Great! PRISTINE CHROME/STAINLESS
Inside and Out with the exception of a very minor (so minor not even visible in
close-up) ding on the very end of the right side body trim! According to the
previous owner, he re-plated the bumpers years ago only because they were
showing some minor age/fade! It's interior is believed as 100% original with the
only item known to be replaced is the carpet! The Dash is Crack Free and about as
perfect as they get! The seating has no wear or tears (maybe had era-common clear
plastic seat covers for years?) All instruments and speedo are completely
operative! The Wonder Bar Radio even works! The clock seems to work most of the
time! The power antenna is stuck at mid mast providing good reception. The
believed matching # factory engine starts, runs and drives perfectly! The only
noted items are small pin holes in the exhaust tailpipes and a minor yet common
oil leak at the rear of the pan. A new water pump was just installed and runs
cool as a cucumber! The transmission shifts smoothly and
effortlessly with no noted leaks. The Power Brakes are almost to good and Power
Steering operates effortlessly! The Wide White Wall Tires are Like new with No
Cracking! Overall a Wonderful Survivor! Drive It! No Air Conditioning but
who cares, its worth the add if you must have it! Not
New and Not Perfect but loaded with shocking originality! I found this car wonderfully
entertaining, captivating and very enjoyable to drive! "It Is What It Is!" Let the
pictures tell the rest of the story! Buy it! NICE!! I
